Compact and Repair

The Compact and Repair function can be used to repair and compact report files. While this function will not restore deleted or lost data, it is useful in fixing any problems with the report file structure. The function will also decrease the amount of disk space needed to store a report file by compressing the data contained within the report file.

To compact and repair a report file:

1. Select Compact and Repair from the File menu.

2. Select the report file you would like to compact and repair.

3. Click the Open button.

The process may take a few moments. When the process is complete, a message will appear notifying you that the report file has been compacted.

If the damage or corruption is extensive, then this function may not be able to successfully repair the report file. If you receive a message stating that the report file could not be repaired, please contact TriTech Software Technical Support.
