Municipal Printing Options

The Printing options allow you to change various printing capabilities. These options are available under Tools>Options>Printing Options. These changes will recur with each print job. The Print Option settings are unique for each module, so you must apply new Print Options in each module for them to take effect.

You may change your default printer here by clicking the Change button and selecting the desired printer.

Print Job Name

You may customize the name of each print job when printing to a PDF file. Customizing the name will modify the name of each PDF printed. You may add the tax year, user name, company name, company abbreviation, current date, jurisdiction name, and/or jurisdiction abbreviation to the print job name. In addition, you may type any additional information you want to appear in the name in the print job name field.

Header/Footer Format

The company name, page number, and current date and time can be printed as a banner on each page of a return and schedule. The banner can be printed as either a header or footer.

Print

The Print section allows you to specify which items are printed when you choose to print from the Print menu. You may choose to print Returns, Attached PDFs Marked as Print, Payment Requests, Preparer Notes, and Return Instructions.

When applicable, you may also choose to print Supporting Schedules and Worksheets for some states.

Reviewer Layer

If you added Stamps, Pencil marks, Sticky Notes, or References to any return, you may check the corresponding checkboxes under the Review Layer if you wish to have the markups print with the returns.

The payee address will print on the each municipal return unless this option is checked.

Print Zero Returns

This checkbox cannot be used in conjunction with the "Print Range", but can be use in conjunction with "Print Negative Returns". By default, only active returns with a tax due will be printed. Checking this box will include returns with a zero tax due in the print job.

Print Range (Returns Only)

Checking "Use Range" will allow you to enter a print range to be used when printing all active returns. "Return >=" is the bottom of the print range. If a number is entered, returns with a tax amount due less than this number will not print. "Return <=" is the top of the print range.  Returns with a tax amount higher than any number entered will not print.  If "Use Range" is checked and one or more fields is left blank, no restrictions will place on the bottom of the range, the top of the range, or both.

Print Negative Returns

This checkbox cannot be used in conjunction with "Print Range" described above. By default, only active returns with a tax due will be printed. Checking this box will include returns with a negative tax due in the print job.

This checkbox will prevent all filings from being printed except those specifically indicated in the Print Selected Items section.
