Allocation Detail Report

The Allocation Detail report displays detailed results of the allocation process for each source address. The software obtains a matching address from its address database for each policyholder address provided in the Source ASCII file. This database contains data obtained from the USPS, so data conforms to USPS standards. The program allocates each policy to the correct taxing jurisdiction based on this matched address.

 

The following is a listing of columns and a brief description of what they represent.

 

Match Code/Match Description: These columns reflect the quality of the matched address. The address database is searched to find address data that corresponds to the source address. Several address candidates may be found, but only the best candidate is listed on the report. The quality of this address is evaluated. Single Match and Multiple Match are good matches. Other matches are of poor quality and should not be relied upon. These addresses should be researched and corrected.

 

0 Single match:  The matched address returned is a good match.

1 Multiple match: The software found one or more matched addresses considered to be equally good matches. Allocator lists the first of these addresses.

2 No close match: A good match was not found.

3 No candidates: No matches were found.

4 P.O. Box, Rural Routes, and HC Routes: A good match was found, but the address used in the ASCII file was a box.  A physical address should be used instead.  Boxes are not physical locations.

5 Address Not in State:  The matched address is in another state.

 

Jurisdiction Assigned to: This is the local jurisdiction where the policy is geocoded to. This could be a city, county, or fire district.  Allocation is determined as follows:

 

Good Matches: If the match code is 0 or 1, the allocation is based on the location of the matched address.  Allocator plots the coordinates of the matched address to a digital map and returns the city boundary.  If the address falls outside a city boundary, the county is returned.

 

No Close Match, No Candidates: The matched address is poor and is not used. Allocator uses the source city name to determine the taxing jurisdiction. Please note that these addresses should be researched and corrected to ensure proper allocation. If the source city name is blank, the address cannot be allocated.

 

PO Boxes and HC/Rural Route: A good matching address was found, but the box does not represent the location of the insured risk. A physical address should be used instead. The matched city will be used to determine the taxing jurisdiction.

 

Jurisdiction Code:  If the jurisdiction (city, county, or fire district) has passed a tax ordinance, a Jurisdiction code will be returned. If the state has assigned tax codes, these are used.  Otherwise, codes assigned by TriTech will be returned. These codes correspond to those used in Premium Pro Enterprise Municipal, P&C, and Life.  If a policy is assigned to a non-taxable jurisdiction, the policy will be assigned a code of 9998, 999, or 09999. If Allocator results are imported into Premium Pro Enterprise Municipal, non-taxable premiums will be summed and will appear in the last row of the input schedule, labeled Other Municipalities.

 

County and City: The County field indicates which county an address is located in.  The city column indicates what city the address is located in. The City field will be blank if the address does not fall within the boundaries of a city.  

 

Policy Number: This is an alpha-numeric code that identifies the policyholder information on each line of the ASCII File. The contents of this field do not affect allocation of the address.

 

Premium Type: Each policy must be assigned a premium type, which is used to determine the line of business (See Appendix C).

 

Matched Street, Matched City, Matched State, and Matched Zip: These fields make up the matched address returned by Allocator.  The Matched City column does NOT represent the taxing jurisdiction where the address is located.  This is determined when the address is plotted to a map.

 

Matched Identifier: This is an alpha-numeric code that indicates which parts of the address were successfully matched during the geocoding process (See Appendix E).

 

Company Code: This is an optional field.  

 

Source Premiums: This column contains the total amount of premiums for each policy.

 

Premiums: This column lists source premiums after any applicable percentages are applied.

 

Miscellaneous 1-4: You may include additional information about each policy in these fields.

 

Agent Address Used: For South Carolina only. An ‘X’ in this column indicates that agents’ addresses were used to allocate the non-taxable policies.

 

 

Each policy in the Source ASCII file is listed on the Allocation Detail Report. The Match Code and Match Description columns are important in determining the quality of the match process.
