System Administrator | Full Time (Allen, TX)

Position Overview
The system administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge of computer software, hardware, and networks.  This individual will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting our Company’s infrastructure by maintaining the essentials, such as operating systems, network, business applications, security tools, servers, email, laptop, and desktop PCs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, software deployment, security updates and patches
  • Ensures maximum availability and uptime of the network
  • Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups
  • Recommend infrastructure improvement; ensuring all components work together properly
  • Monitor datacenter health using management tools and respond to issues as they arise
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Contributes to the development and testing for Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans
  • Works with Company employees, contractors, and clients to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Maintains current understanding of industry standards, trends, and best practices through industry and other professional networks
  • Other duties as needed or required

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education and Experience – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, or 5+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems; current equipment and technologies, enterprise back and recovery procedures, performance monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery and caching
  • Experience with Linux OS, Citrix and VPN gateways preferred
  • Experience in project management, application design and integration and cloud computing (specifically Google Cloud Platform), a plus
  • Possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people of varying technical levels
  • Ability to adapt to change, learn quickly and to creatively solve new problems
  • Ability to act as a team player
  • Some work outside normal business hours and some weekends required
  • May deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment
