The following table illustrates the default specifications for the ASCII File used by Premium Pro Allocator to process premiums.
It is recommended that you limit ASCII files to include policy information for the state you are processing. Only physical addresses should be used.
Characters allowed in the ASCII File:
Allocator supports the characters listed below. If you want to use other characters, select option Filter ASCII characters when processing a file. Use of unsupported characters may cause the program to error. Click here for more information on the option.
Allowed Characters:
Letters: A-Z and a-z
Numbers: 0-9
Characters: ! " # ( ) + - , . / : ; < > ? [ ] \ _ ` { }
Each line in the file must end with a Carriage Return/Line Feed.
Please note that this list does not affect the delimiter. Any delimiter can be used.
Each line in the file must end with a Carriage Return/Line Feed. Negative numbers must be represented by a preceding negative sign, trailing negative sign, or enclosing parenthesis. The premium amount field should be formatted with a decimal between dollars and cents, if premium amounts include cents. Any delimiter can be used to separate data; you will need to select the correct delimiter when processing the file. Do not use more than 11 delimiters in a line, unless importing SC agent info, in which case don’t use more than 15 delimiters in a line. Standard Fixed Length Format
Each line in the file must end with a Carriage Return/Line Feed. Custom column widths for fields cannot exceed 250, except for the Premium Amount field which cannot exceed 25. Each of the lengths below include a trailing space to separate the fields. The Premium Amount field should be formatted with a decimal between dollars and cents, if premium amounts include cents.
