Installation Procedures

 

The Premium Pro installation offers a choice of three different setup types:

 

The Stand-Alone Installation will install all of the necessary files to the local machine, including program files, Windows system files, online help, and Desktop and Start menu shortcuts. If the Stand-Alone setup type is selected, we recommend that you install to the default destination folder (C:\Program Files\2017-2018 Premium Pro) to avoid installation problems when applying software updates.

 

The Network (Server) Installation will install the program files and online help to the specified network drive. Before installing to a network drive, the drive may need to be mapped to a local drive letter. Once the Network setup has completed, the Workstation setup must be performed on each workstation that will access the network installation.

 

- To install Premium Pro Allocator from the file downloaded from the Tritech website, please follow the steps below:

 

- Close all open dialog boxes, and exit any running applications.

- Unzip the zip file and make sure all unzipped files are saved in the same folder.

- Double click on the "Setup.exe" file.

- At the initial installation screen, click Next.

- Read and review the License Agreement, then click Next.

- Type your name, company name, and serial number into the fields provided, then click Next.

- Verify the registration information, then click Next.

- Select the type of setup you want to perform (Stand-Alone, Network, or Workstation), then click Next.

- If Stand-Alone or Network was chosen on the previous page, specify the destination folder for the installation. For Network setups, the network drive may need to be mapped to a local drive letter if the UNC path does not work. If Workstation was chosen on the previous page, specify the folder on the network drive where the software was installed during the Network setup. The setup will create the necessary product subfolders within the destination folder. For this reason, it is not necessary to specify individual product folders. Click Next.

- Verify that the setup information is correct, then click Next to begin copying the necessary files.

- When the installation has completed, click Finish.

 

The Workstation Installation will install Windows system files to the local machine, and create Desktop and Start menu shortcuts that will allow you to access the software on the network. A Network setup must be completed before running the Workstation setup. During the Workstation setup, you will be prompted to select the folder that was chosen during the Network setup. You will then be prompted to choose the location of the Workstation. It is recommended that the default location be used.

  

NOTES:

 

- The setup will automatically create subfolders for each Premium Pro product within the selected destination folder. For this reason, do not specify separate folders for each product. For example, the destination folder should not include the Aloctr18 folder, as in "C:\Program Files\2017-2018 Premium Pro\Aloctr17". Instead, the destination folder should read "C:\Program Files\2017-2018 Premium Pro".

- Workstation will be released quarterly.  It will be necessary to update all workstations quarterly to ensure all data is kept up to date.

- The Allocator workstation can be run on a 64 bit machine as a 32 bit application.

Note: The person performing the Workstation Installation has to have full access rights to the product directory to setup the workstation correctly.
