Hawaii - Efile

The state of Hawaii requires you to submit the Annual Premium Tax Statement (Form 314), the Investment Return (Form 322), the Worker’s Compensation Special Fund (Form 315), and the Monthly Tax Statements (Form 323) separately. To complete the electronic filing process for the state of Hawaii, please follow the steps outlined in the Efiling help topic.

Fill out the return completely, with all company, premium, and other required information, just as you would a paper return. When you select Yes to submit the return, the transmission process begins immediately. Attachments are not included in the e-file process for Hawaii. You should then see a message stating that the file transfer is complete. Soon after, an email confirming receipt of the file will be sent to the contact email address provided on the return.

After filing electronically, if you are making a payment via manual check, you must complete, print out, and return the payment voucher. This is the only page you need to send to the state of Hawaii. If the tax returns (Form 314, 323 or 322) reflect a zero balance due, the payment voucher is not required. Please do not send the voucher for $0 balance due. If the forms (Form 314, 323, 315, or 322) are e-filed, hard copies of the premium tax returns are not required.

If, for any reason, the Hawaii Department of Insurance finds upon review that your return is unsatisfactory, they will inform you, just as with a paper return.

See the attachment help topic for more helpful information regarding e-file attachments.
