The Illinois Fire module may be used to allocate premiums covering risks within Illinois to the correct municipality or fire district. Addresses that fall within the Chicago, Cicero, East St. Louis, Mount Prospect, and Wilmette city limits are assigned to these municipalities. Addresses that fall within other municipalities are compared to the Illinois Municipal League Fire Tax Bulletin to determine if and where the address is taxable.
If a good match is returned, the allocation for each policy is first determined by plotting a point to the Illinois map. If a poor match is returned, the source city is used. The city name is then matched to a table that determines the fire district. This table is derived from the Illinois Fire Dept Tax Code Numbers publication provided by the Illinois Municipal League.
The Illinois Municipal League and other Illinois municipal returns do not require a breakout of premiums by type. Therefore, the Illinois Fire module does not differentiate between Premium Type Codes in the source ASCII file and groups all allocated premiums together.
To export allocation data to Premium Pro Municipal, follow these steps:
In the state selection drop-down box, select "Illinois."
Select the "Municipal Import File (*.imp)" export option.
Select the "By Municipal Code" or "By Municipal Name" option. NOTE: Remember which option you choose, so that you can select the same option when importing the data into Municipal.
Click the "Browse" button to select a file name for the exported data.
Click the "Export" button.
Following the steps above will create a Municipal Import file (*.imp). The contents of this file can be imported into Premium Pro Municipal by following these steps:
Open the Municipal module in Premium Pro Enterprise and select the appropriate company.
Select the File menu, select Import, and select ASCII.
Select the import type you would like to use. This should be the same as the export type you chose in Step 4 above.
Click the "Select File" button to select the file you wish to import. This should be the Municipal Import file (*.imp) that was created above.
Click the "Import" button to import the contents of the selected file.
Following the steps above will import the data and generate calculations.
